ULTEM™ 9085 Natural (PEI) — Fortus®-class canister refill for production printing
ULTEM™ 9085 Natural is a high-performance PEI filament produced from SABIC ULTEM™ 9085 resin, configured in the 92 in³ (1510cc) metal canister format used across Fortus® production systems. The natural formulation is selected for baseline 9085 mechanical/thermal performance and clean, unpigmented appearance.

When Natural is the right call
- When you want baseline 9085 performance in an unpigmented, clean appearance
- When your workflow needs repeatable canister-to-canister feed behavior
- When you’re quoting production parts and want a stable, known PEI family option
Natural vs Black (quick positioning)
- Natural: unpigmented appearance for general-purpose production and validation work
- Black: consistent industrial finished-part color for visible components
- Both are configured as Fortus®-class 92 in³ canister refills
Material control & packaging
PEI is moisture sensitive. Each unit is sealed in a Mylar® moisture-barrier bag with molecular sieve desiccant to maintain low moisture prior to installation and support stable extrusion behavior in elevated Fortus® chamber environments.
- Moisture-barrier packaging for consistent extrusion
- Molecular sieve desiccant (high-capacity moisture absorption)
- Controlled extrusion conditions for repeatable canister performance
Traceability & documentation
Produced using traceable SABIC ULTEM™ 9085 resin with controlled process handling. Documentation such as CoC may be available upon request for regulated or program-based production environments.
Typical controls
- Batch-level raw material traceability
- Consistent manufacturing workflow for repeat results
- Packaging controls to preserve filament condition pre-install
