Custom Fortus® Material Development FAQ

Can NEXT 3DP develop custom materials for Stratasys® Fortus® printers?

Yes. NEXT 3DP develops custom materials specifically for Stratasys® Fortus® production systems. Our workflow includes in-house filament extrusion, Fortus parameter development, printing validation, and post-processing strategies to ensure materials perform reliably on industrial FDM platforms.

Do you offer custom Fortus® filament colors?

Yes. Through our in-house extrusion capability, NEXT 3DP can develop custom filament colors and specialty formulations compatible with Fortus® systems. Custom colors can be produced alongside material validation to ensure reliable printing performance.

What materials can be developed for Fortus® printers?

NEXT 3DP works with a wide range of engineering thermoplastics including high-temperature materials such as ULTEM™, PEKK, aerospace polycarbonate, and flexible TPU elastomers. Custom materials can be developed and validated using Fortus production systems.

Can NEXT 3DP help optimize Fortus® print parameters?

Yes. Parameter development is a core part of our workflow. NEXT 3DP develops machine-specific print parameters for Fortus® systems to unlock new materials, improve part quality, and ensure reliable printing performance for advanced thermoplastics.

Can customers purchase the materials or have parts manufactured?

Both options are available. Customers can purchase Fortus-compatible materials developed by NEXT 3DP or work with us to manufacture production parts using validated material and printing workflows.
